Chaga mushrooms, scientifically known as Inonotus obliquus, are a type of fungus that grows primarily on birch trees in cold climates, including parts of North America, Europe, and Asia. These mushrooms have been used for centuries in traditional medicine, particularly in Siberia and other parts of Russia, as well as by indigenous communities in North America.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
They are believed to be rich in antioxidants, such as polyphenols, which may help protect cells from oxidative damage. Some studies suggest that Chaga mushrooms may have anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting, and anti-cancer properties, although more research is needed to confirm these potential health effects.
OPTIONS
• Glass Jar: The jar holds approximately 3.5oz Chaga nuggets and has a twist-on air-tight lid. The jar has a label with background info, tea instructions and more. The Chaga pieces in this jar will range from large granules to small chunks. We prefer to use our Chaga in smaller pieces, as it offers greater surface-area when brewing tea, allowing for a quicker, more effective brew. The smaller pieces are also easier to add to a tea bag or infuser, if you choose to do so. Chaga nuggets may be brewed up to 3 times to extract all of their compounds.
