PREPARATION
• Cracking the Seed: The seed is very hard and needs to be cracked open. You can use a hammer or a heavy object to break the outer shell.
• Removing the Inner Flesh: Once the shell is cracked, remove the inner part (the seed kernel). This is the part that is used.
HOW TO USE
• Chewing: A small piece of the seed can be chewed before bedtime. The taste is quite bitter, so some people prefer to wash it down with water or herbal tea.
• Tincture: Some people create a tincture by soaking the ground seed in alcohol for several weeks. A few drops of the tincture can be taken before sleep.
• Infusion/Tea: Another method is to make a tea or infusion with the ground seed. Boil water, add the powder, and let it steep for 10-15 minutes. Strain the liquid and drink it before bedtime to potentially enhance dream recall and vividness.
• Smoking: The powder can be mixed with other herbs and smoked, which is a traditional method believed to enhance dreaming and spiritual experiences.
